Sorry, cannot find anything wrong with this....my mind's still numb over the whole concept.  Wow....
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Cheers John! ;D

The "deliberate mistake" ahem, was that I  enthusiastically weathered the whole thing with aluminium paint, including the radome: don't get many aluminium radomes, do you?   :banghead:

Ah but would it still be a radome or would it be replaced by balast and and a metal cone to replace the more fragile fibreglass one  ;)

Well my concept (admittedly I didn't put it in the backstory) was that they'd taken the radar out and replaced it with a circular sheet of armour inside the radome, so the latter should probably have had a few bullet holes in it too... ;D

WOW Weaver!! G-R-E-A-T model and idea! (just tuned in here to see what-up with the "Pirate GB")

Funny how warped minds turn to similar ideas. Way back when Iran and Iraq were going at it, I learned about the German-backed Iraqi uprising during WW II, and that they used Bf-110's and He-111's in Iraqi markings.  I wanted to do a  Bf-110 in Iraqi markings, but had done several other Bf-110's, so put it forever on the "back burner".

I then sketched out, on a 3 x 5 card, a "to-do" whif of a "leftover" Bf-110 stripped of its wings, with some large tyres, kind of like a "technical". I never pursued the model or expanded on the sketch, but the germ of an idea was there.

Now I see that there was a whole "anime" on the idea, using more advanced aircraft, of course.

What fun!

Here's my old sketch:

My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Cheers Craig! Interesting sketch - why not do it? There's plenty of mileage in this idea....

Ken Steacy's Tempus Fugitive wasn't an anime as such, just a four-part graphic novel. I should also point out that the Hardcorps section was just one small episode in a time-travel story that covered many eras, most of the historical ones being fairly realistically portrayed. There was however a KILLER 1950s USAF uber-bomber (A-5 Vigilantea as parasites! ) which I wouldn't dare attempt, but someone did because one of the books has a picture of Ken holding a model of it on the frontspiece.

Made a little base for it at Bolton (just a piece of clear plasticard with a printout underneath it) which Martin H kindly took a photo of:
