Went to the mather (Sacramento) Airshow last weekend. Great airshow with enough variety to make both modern and history buff happy. I got to see lots of stuff fly that i'd never seen in the air before. Thought I'd share some pics.

1st up the B-2 Bomber (Spirit) which holds the record for any US bomber for an endurance flight of over 48 hours. Really hard to photograph this one, I eather ended up with a black sillohette or a light photo.

Also Got to see a U2 in the air, awesome sight!

here's an F-18 hornet stinger deployed (OK so it's an arresting hook, indulge me :))

The Patriots demonstration team also put on a great routine in their L-39's, The team is made up of ex fighter pilots including ex blue angel and t-bird pilots.

Next up the F-22 Raptor, if you ever get a chance to see this baby perform, don't miss it!

The F-22 also did a heritage flight with a group of P-38 Lightnings.

And now for the P-38' Lightnings, there are only 7 P-38 lightnings that are airworthy and 4 of them were at the show, there was supposed to be 5 but one had engine problems and had to stop off in Fresno and didn't make the show.

LOVELY P-38 piccies!

Interesting that the one coded 'X' has its radiator doors open all the time, but the others don't. I wonder if it had an overheating problem? I don't think I've ever seen a piccie of one with the doors open before.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
