I have to ask what job do you have that means you get to make models...do you own a model shop?

Cracking job Tim, love the Irish Hurricane.

With luck I'll see a real one on Thursday as Mrs. PR19 and I are in Ireland and I'm trying like hell to get into the Irish Air Corps Museum at Baldonel, where they have a real one. Fingers crossed.....

Nice work there on those birds, Tim.

Kit, I doubt you'll see a Hurricane at Baldonnel but you should see a lot more fantastic aircraft IF you can gain access. I pre-arranged it weeks before I went out there. Take a tripod and good camera too. I was there last year and it's all in a dimly lit 2-bay Belfast Truss Hangar like those at Duxford. It was an RAF base first, of course!
In the collection I saw their Chipmunk, Vampire, Anson, Fouga Magister and a pair of towed Bofors AA guns. I then got taken out to tour the active aircraft hangars and saw the government Gulfstream IV, Learjet 45, Pilatus PC-9M, Cessna 172s, AW139, EC-135 and the Twin Squirrel. Pretty much the entire air fleet was at the one base  :o

Nick,

I got a phone call from someone at Baldonnell today and sadly they have no staff available as tour guides this week, despite saying that they would do over a month ago.  :banghead:

Such is life.....

The two CN235s weren't there when you visited then? Presumably they were out over the Atlantic looking for pirates.  -_-

Brilliant work mate!  One of the best things a model shop can do is have good quality finished articles on display, to inspire folk!

Look good Tim. What branch of MZ do you work in ?

Was in Brighton yesterday (last day of summer and it was gorgeous weather, so went with a couple of mates) popped into MZ and was appalled. Was about 98% diecast, nowt wrong with diecast but the plastic shared a space smaller then my broomcupboard with the figures
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Both Chadders and myself work in Derby Modelzone, we are now one of the larger stockists of plastic kits ( in relation to our turnover and size ) but thats down to incrased sales. We are happy to talk to customers about kits and they buy more as a result  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I wish Leeds MZ sold more plastic kits. I think Cheshire MZ is a good branch but hardly ever west unless it's to see my sister at Liverpool uni. I made a promise to myself I would get down to Cheshire next time i'm over there.
