i got the idea when i heared there will be sequal to "Porco Rosso", and this got me thinking

Los Angeles, september 1938, famous film director and former mercenary pilot, Donald Curtiss, was packing up his stuff after his moviestudio went bankrupt. out of a job and in need of work, he set of to Buffalo, New York to find a job as a test pilot at his cousin, Glenn Curtiss, aircraft factory. together they helped create the Curstis P-40 for the USAAF. Curtiss saved up most of his paychecks to buy himself a new plane, as his own R3C was outdated and worn out. one day, he opened a newspaper and read that his old adversary, Porco Rosso, made a name for himself, flying as a mercenary in the Spanish Civil War. Curtiss still had a grudge against him for the embarresment he suffered in de mediteranian years ago. 4 years later, on june 7, 1942, he had enough money to buy a plane from his cousin, this was a P-40E, modified with an armour plated cockpit, a more powerfull engine, strenghened airframe and an arrestor hook  to enable carrier operations.

with the rest of his money, he booked some space on the french aircraft carrier "Bern", and set of to Europe. arriving in Britain, he took of heading to the adriatic, shooting down many german fighters that opposed him on the way. shortly after his arrival, he landed his plane at the landing strip at the Hotel Adriana, where he met up with the old and new pirate gangs, who have joined together into 1 large gang as working solo didnt pay up much those days. just like 18 years ago, Curtiss signed a contract, this time a more permanant one.

now flying under pirate flag, he, allong with several other pilots, provides fighter cover for the large seaplanes.
he, the allies and porco Rosso would once again be engaged in mortal combat serveral times.

the model:

the model im gonna be using is the airfix 1/72 P-40E, witch i bought specially for this GB.
i was planning to place it on top of a Do17 flying boat as a parrasite fighter, much like the short mayo, but with the engine configuration of the Do17, it kinda makes it impossible, i couldtry, but im not gonna promise anything.

so, AVAST, Ye Porco !!!
