Don't forget to massively reinforce the landing gear and add a few hundredweight of ballast to the tail.  

R-1830: 567 kg (1,250 lb)

DB 605: 756 kg (1,667 lb)

Also don't forget to add the weight of the cooling system.

BTW where are the radiators on your profiles.

In the inner leading edge of the wings, same as the oil coolers for the radial J-22. With that weight difference in mind, maybe the rear fuselage would've been wiser 

Maybe with a set up similar to the Mustang or Thunderbolt?
