Really inspires me to dig-out my 183 sometime soon. Great work as ever, Les.

Confuscious (maybe)

Thanks Ian!

If you have not built this kit before you will not like the main wheels provided, they are oversized and look nothing like wheels used by any Focke-Wulf aircraft. An easy fix to this problem is to use resin Fw 190 or Ta 152 aftermarket wheels. I used wheels from a Tamiya Fw 190 kit on mine and it worked like a charm.
This kit builds very quickly and is near perfect in how well the parts fit.

I have built one of these Ta 183 and enjoyed it.  I got one more to do - next time I am going to cut out the engine you can see in the undercart housing and stick in a jumo 004 from a 262 kit - just to provide more detail

cheers

Bernie,
The Amtech Ta 183 is a perfect kit to add extra detailing to it. My next one will have the landing gear legs shortened a bit more than I did on this build, all Focke-Wulf drawings I have seen of this design show it to have a nose high stance while parked on the ground.

A few years ago I built one of these kits and the wings fit so good to the fuselage I never bothered to glue them in. I can't recall any other kits that I had built that did not need glue to attach the wings, why can't more kits be like this?
