my 6 year old nephew asked why i did not have any the of the planes he knows, such as Harold in thomas, and it got me thinking why not and try to build some of the youngsters TV show aircraft.
now i know Harold is a S-55 helicopter fitted with floats, but i can't get one at the moment so i am using a uh-34 Choctaw, but which ones do you think could be built and from what?
Me, I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest.
Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

I'm struggling to think of aicraft in kids TV, probably because I'm a bit tired after work and because I don't actually watch much of it!

Harold from Thomas the Tank Engine was, as you say, a float equipped S-55.
Jimbo reminds me of a Fisher-Price toy I had as a kid: http://www.briansjunk.com/images/Misc/Fisher%20Price%20Plane.JPG
Danger Mouse had a flying Top-Secret Car.
Batman has been done in many ways, both helo and jet.
Budgie the Helicopter is said to resemble a Bell 206, he had lots of flying friends.

I grew up with Airwolf shredding baddies on a weekly basis - does that count!?! 

i was  thinking of more the budgie and thomas like aircraft, for the under 10 kids might make a good display to bring a few kids over to our table?

How about a 'kiddified' Whiff, or maybe like the jet fighters from the beginning of 'Cars'?

Egg planes with faces on them?
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

Smacking myself on the head for forgetting this one:
Little Pedro from Saludos Amigos, one of Disney's semi-forgotten features. His segment was later also released as a short.

And the video here.

There's also the Goofy Glider

From 'how to fly'

And Mickey's plane from Plane Crazy

For cars, there's a really good old Disney short about a car, it goes through it's whole life span from being bought new and shiny, to being sold second hand until it eventually ends up on a junk yard, where hot rodders find it and soup it up giving it a new lease of life. Can't remember the name.

Wallace and Grommit side-car plane of course...
Snoopy's dog kennel plane...

NARSES2

Here's something Lenny. Believe it or not reviewd in SAM  ;D

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

There are several of the Cars aircraft toys available including the jet, a biplane, a couple different sizes of the Lightyear blimp and a couple helicopters.

This one's from 'In the Night Garden', my kids watch it.  It's known as the Pinky Ponk:

And this it's land counterpart, the Ninky Nonk:
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Captain Canada

There's a tonne more toys out now, after the "Airplanes' or 'Planes' or whatever it's called follow up to Cars. Dusty the crop duster seems to be a big hit with kids.
