Boeing E-3/707 kit, 72 scale, already built would be fine.

I am looking for a E-3 AWACS or Boeing 707 kit,72 scale, a built up one that has come to the end of its days would be fine as I wish to try and build a P-8A fron it, so it will need much filler and sanding. If it is missing engines or undercarriage, that will be no problem, just as long as it has the fuselage, wings, tail and tail planes. I am thinking Nimrod replacement when their Airships realise what they are missing.

Cheers

The P-8 is based on the 737 though, isn't it? Or are you going to be doing some serious bashing?

My lhs has an Italeri KC-135, if that's any use? I think it's £30.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Hmm a 707 MPA.

I did one about 5-6 years ago. its currently hanging in the What if cabinet at the Midlnd air museum.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Thanks for the replies, gentlemen.

Pyro-maniac:

P-8 is based on the 737, the 737 using many 707 jigs so the nose is the same, and the fuselage cross section is the same. A guy in Oz built a 737 AWACS from an E-3, so it's doable. The KC-135 has a different fuselage cross section, so will not work - I have already had one out of the loft to see if it was feasible - it isn't.

Martin H:

No, a 737 MPA - I have seen your 707 MPA, and good though it is, I have no desire to emulate it.

It's nice, but far too pricey for me at the moment. Lack of a regular income precludes this purchase.

I guess I'll have to keep on looking.
