an amazing novel, one of the darkest pieces of sf. writing iv ever read ... (lots of what-if possibilities too, asat. X.15, hypersonic carrier launched aircraft, etc.) ...

... take one Monogram X.15A.2, an Esci F.15A's ASAT. missile (a resin copy) and ...

... oops, just a thought, is the Smithsonian's X.15 (as referenced in the novel!) the short fuselaged version as opposed to the X.15A2 in the Monogram kit ??? ...

... hmm..does anyone know of a source for the new 'USAF.' 'winged type insignia' would look different on current US. 'what-if' types ?

yip i did it as a display model in Halfords Matt Black with a mainly white ASAT. and no markings other than a red serial on the tail as per the books description, looked prtetty sinister indeed and the author i passed it over to was pretty chuffed with it too as being something different for his desk

ill see how i get on with the biggie, might do it as a lunchtime build at work as a break from 1st year students  :banghead:

If you want to save time on your 1/32nd scale ASAT you can try to locate the Revell F-15B/D/E Eagle/Strike Eagle kit which included the ASM-132 ASAT missile with the launcher adapter pylon.
