One thing though: given how fast the thing presumably is, having the driver's vision blocked by the turret seems a bit unwise. How about twin Russian "Dalek" 30mm mountings on the front of the "forks", or for a western equivalent, two of the various Sea Vulcan mountings?

This is something I've been thinking about for a while, but haven't gotten my hands on a hydroplane to do it to yet.

Might need to scratch this up in 1/700 for the USN, USCG, and Border Patrol.

Somewhere (I can't find it right now), I've got a pic of someone's RC ships of a USCG Hamilton class in the foreground with a USCG marked hydroplane in the background with a USCG AH-64 on the aft deck.  Too cool for words.
