I have a ton of plans in my head to do something like this as a Q ship.  Probably going to use an old Liberty style freighter, once I finish the half a dozen other projects ahead of it of course.

Hydrofoil patrol-boats like the USS Tucumari, obsolete 1950's Vosper's (72nd Tamiya kit), Russian patrol-boats with "Darlek" auto-cannon turrets (going cheap now), that stealth-catamaran ....

Pirates wouldn't be looking to take an ocean-liner (to many crew & passengers to control) but valuable assets with small crews like Ro-Ro / Container ships full of luxury cars or oil tankers are ideal targets so ....
a tanker or bulk-carrier turned into a Q-raider with drop-down sides, pop-up cannon, attack-helos under an opening-deck and heavily armed patrol-boat in rear dock ....

Maybe Blackwater buy one of Australia's useless Collins Class semi-open-sea subs (Sea Sheperd buy the others) .... so many possibilities !!
