The Wooksta!

Many years ago, DB did a resin Griffon engine to convert the Heller XVIe to a later mark with some scratchbuilding.  Now, I think I've one of these somewhere but would like a few more as they look like they'll fit the new Airfix Ia with little difficulty, meaning I can get an operational Mk IV out of it.

Anyone got one (or several) spare they'd be happy to part with?

DB also did a cowling for the Seafire FR47 with the ram scoop intake.  I am NOT after this one.

TIA.

Lee,

Was that Giffon almost the same one as they did for their Mk XII conversion? That has the little bulge on top of the cowling, but otherwise looks quite the part.

Kit, I didn't know Dave Buttress had done a XII conversion - the Griffon I got had instructions how to scratch a 22 using the engine and a heller 16(!).

If it's got the little bulge, it's even more useful, bearing in mind I'd like several to do some early Griffon Spits.

OK Lee, I'll take a look in the 'Spitfire Box' in The Loft and see what surfaces. I'm sure I've seen something like that in there........

If you do, can you pass it to Martin if you're going to Cosford?  I don't trust the Bolsheviks at the Royal Mail any more, given that they've managed to lose at least two piece of mail for me in the last month.

I only found one of those DB Mk XII noses and it's part of the complete Mk XII conversion that Dave did for me.

I don't really want to part with that but I do have a spare one of those Mk 22 conversion noses you mentioned oiriginally. It comes with a resin spinner and 5 white metal prop blades. I'll bring it with me tomorrow and hand it over to Martin.

Ideal.  I was planning on dropping it into rubber - Martin will probably do likewise before I get it!  You'll get some clones back later in the year.

This is now safely in my grubby paws, along with a pair I managed to obtain elsewhere - one borrowed from a mate, t'other found lurking in a box.

Topic now closed and locked.
