Well my previous ideas went down like a lead balloon, I mean come on its not as if anyone is likely to build an aircraft that flies backwards in mid-flight or lands upright/tail-sitting. These are ideas way beyond the laws of physics but yet get the Whiffs in a twist and yet if I buy two Airfix kits of the BAe Nimrod and cut one to make it shorter and use the spare parts to make the other longer, no one butts an eyelid.

McColm,

anyone is free to build whatever takes their fancy. It's your model, and yours alone.

However, if you post ideas on this site (notice you're in the 'Idea Bank' area, which is meant for people to publish ideas that others can use in their builds) you've got to expect some discussion. This is not a personal attack. Many of the members of this site enjoy building items that are quite close to reality; for them, the question 'would this idea work in the real world' is a valid one. If you want to ignore that question, fine, but it might be wise to say so when you present your idea.

Captain Canada

My sub has SHARs as well as choppers. Deck lift, ski-jump, blast off. Recovery is by normal VTOL approach, then roll down a ramp into the hangar. The ship will also be equiped with beartrap recovery systems for rough weather landings.

thanks for the advice Hobbes.
Capt Canada WOW!! What/which model(s) did you buy to build that sub?

Captain Canada

It's the Revell 400 scale Typhoon. I just chopped up the lower hull bits to lengthen the upper. I wish I would have used a true 350 scale boat, but this one was gifted to me so I had to think of something to do with it.
