Honduras New Helicopters

Here is a few new arrivals to the Honduras army. These helicopters are a much needed addition to the ranks as the current armed helicopter force was seriously getting out gunned by the Cartel's Hinds,Havoc's,Hokums, Alligators and Helix's. With the help of a South African  company specialising in upgrading and upgunning helicopters, the Honduras army gained some gunships that could punch well above their weight. A total of 3 HAP-2 Tigre's were bought and 2 A-129 Mangustas will also join them upon completion. Also a dedicated fighter/escort helicopter concept made from a HAP-2 airframe along with several other aircraft parts and some serious modifications was offered. A fully operational demonstrator was sent with the completed HAP-2's and A-129's. Along with the armed helicopter acquisitions, a large transport helicopter was purchased, this being an NH-90. If this helicopter proves itself, then more will be bought and it will replace several UH-1's that have served for many years.
Here is one of the Mangusta's modified to carry a large calibre cannon and a pair of short range air to air missiles.
 

Here is one of the 3 HAP 3 Tigre's armed with 6 air to air missiles, 4 TOW anti tank missiles, and a 40 mm cannon pod. The wing tip air to air missiles fitted are one of 4 different kinds that can be fitted to the helicopter.


This is the fighter/escort concept helicopter, this is armed with 4 sidewinders, 2 AMRAAM's 30 mm cannon, and 2 .50 machine guns.




This is the new NH-90, that will probably replace the ageing UH-1's.

Your Mangusta variant makes me really wish someone would come up with the five bladed international Mangusta version.

Would that include the gun and the port side mounted ammo feed/magazine.....seen some pics of that.....

Thanks for the great comments  guys, I really enjoyed building these. I have nearly run out of attack Helicopters to build now, I wish Trumpeter would hurry up and bring the Chinese one out, and it would be nice to have a Rooivalk in 1/72nd scale too. I am quite happy with the Fighter/Escort helicopter it has come out well considering it is a parts bin/grave yard special.

Chris......I seen some reviews for a 1/72 scaleworx Denel Rooivalk......awesome work again.....!! I gotta get my SSGB outta the way then it's on with some attack helo's to fill my model cabinet.....H

Cheers for the heads up on the Rooivalk H. I have contacted Scaleworx before as I was interested in the super hind conversion set they do, but they never bothered to reply.
