Hi all,

Please forgive me if this is in the wrong place as I am totally new to all this, and I suppose this would be my first post. Would you guys say I was 'out of the closet?' Anyway, I digress. I have just finished a Starfighter F.Mk 1 in RAF No. 3 Squadron colours (the same scheme as currently worn by Typhoons). The idea is that the Typhoon project failed, and in the midst of a deep financial crisis the UK government is forced to press into service older F-104's bought from the Italian air force. Mine is in 25th Anniversary colours (I don't know what of yet!) with a red tail. I think it looks smart . If I can work out how to do it I'll put some pictures up later and you can all tell me what you think!
"Is there anything else you need to win the battle?"
"Jawohl Herr Reichsmarshall, give me a squadron of Spitfires!"

If the Typhoon project failed, wouldnt the Italians be needing those 104s themselves?

Haha, you're quite right! I'd forgotten that Italy alo uses the Eurofighter... Maybe I need to rethink my backstory a bit.

No, we could rent them some Tornado F3s. The UK Government would have disbanded the Squadrons anyway, whether the Typhoons were available or not................  :-\
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

All hail the God of Frustration!!!

Cool ! Looking forward to seeing this.

The Italians would have been in the same boat as the Brits, so maybe the finincial crisis and the Euroflopper forced them to sell off some older 104s....plus, bringing them up to snuff might have helped both economies.

CANADA KICKS arse !!!!
