QuoteI have smiled seeing a 'different' USCG helicopter, then I wondered: is this H-72 a special H-64? What is the basis of it? And what is a H-72 for JMNs?
I asked Google and the only answer was: Sikorsky H-34...  And what is a H-34? An old ugly one :(
I prefer yours... :)
Tophe, Anthony's MH-72 is based on the Italeri kit of the A-129 Mangusta, an Italian Army scout/attack helicopter.  I've got one on the shelf that I intend to do as a US Army machine.  It won't be as colorful as that, but it won't be the standard OD Green machine either.

As to the H-34:

CH-34 at CAM

The H-34 was a development of the previous H-19 helicopter, with a more powerful radial engine.  It was one of the last helicopters of its type to serve around the world, that is, before everyone switched to turbine power.  At the Museum, the H-34 is parked next to a UH-1 "Huey", which makes it useful for illustrating the difference between the two types of engine (the UH-1 has all the capacity and lifting capability, with an airframe of half the size).
