Interesting name. I was expecting something about NASA's Voyager spacecraft when I opened this thread.

So, is its service designation going to be C.1K? The article didn't say.

That 'Pilot's Planes and Military' link reckons the Voyager will be termed the 'KC-30' in RAF service............

It appears that KC-30A is the Australian air force designation. I would have thought the RAF would adopt either C1K like the VC10`s or KC1 like the Tristar, both of which were MRTT type aircraft. Which way round it goes would depend on which is the main role of the two. Transport or Tanker?
