I am planning to build something as similar as possible to the famous Indiana jones flying wing .

Current thoughts are on obtaining a Revell Sea Vixen for the starting point.

Isn't there a kit of the actual aircraft available? IIRC it was an existing Luft 46 design with a few modifications.

Maverick

Don't know if it was an existing design. A Horten make would be an obvious choice, although I'm unaware of any their designs that were similar beyond the fact they were flying wings.

That being said, I think it was a 'Black Sun' 72nd scale kit in resin of the type.

There were some postings about exactly this, but part of another thread, just a week or so ago. There was, or even is, a kit of it available, but it's an 'arm and a leg' job.  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Expensive, but of high quality i hear. Someone on here built it and put it in Spanish civil war markings.

Sea Vixen Idea is an interesting one

It was an art department creation that drew heavily on the Northrop N-1M combined with concept drawings by Ron Cobb.

Probably been posted before, but bears repeating: the original Ron Cobb concept sketch.

and as a bonus, a jet fighter he designed to be at the airfield as well:

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

i think i can make a 1/72 version out of a revell FW Flitzer, with some leftover Me262 engine cowlings :)

Actually, I thought it looked a bit like a piston engined version of the Arado AR -E555. Be a great model subject though.
Loves JMNs but could never eat a whole one!!

Nice, are you going to mod the cockpit and turret to a more British design?
