The finished model looks great!  I do have a comment about the first few pictures you posted after you stripped off the paint and removed the smaller parts.  With remaining paint in the panel lines, and streaked look from the stripping process, the model looks similar to some of the longer residents of the AMARC facility (boneyard) in AZ.  Just leave the parts on, and cover the canopy and any openings with white painted cover/sealer (paper, thin foil, or something similar) and you could represent a retired/stored aircraft.

LOL! I suppose I could have, but I prefer seeing something with paint and decals on.  ;)
