"Pagoda Platform"

In order to do my TINY 1/2000 Yonaga aircraft carrier (Ship GB--summer of 2011), I had to somehow get the whole shebang up closer to my eyes, especially so I could see the profile of the ship without having to hunch down and curve my spine (maybe permanently) or tilt my head. You may need to do the same thing for any number of reasons (but this "necessity" was my first such).

So...I built myself a "pagoda" out of the kit boxes, taped them together, and put a flat piece of cardboard on the top so my "waterline" model would sit still and squarely. Worked for me! I used it as a painting platform, too, and when the Yonaga was completed, I just slit with a razor the tape (Packing tape--wider and stronger than "Scotch" type) holding it all together, and put the kit remnants into the box. Mind you there were TWO similar boxes that I made this "Pagoda" out of. Simple but effective.

My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!
