What if Kurt Tank ended up in Britain for some reason in the mid 30s? And suppose Vickers made him an offer he couldn't refuse? He might have wound up working with a certain Mr Mitchell, and produced something along the lines of my Supermarine Shrike:

This is the Revell Fw190-F8 kit, with the spare "c" wing from the Airfix Spitfire V (which was built as the Pirate Spit I did a while back). It is not finished yet, having fallen victim to my cat deciding to park his big fat behind on my bench. :banghead: Needs a bit more filler on the wing joins, and then it's off for painting. Unsure as to colours as yet, but probably "standard" grey/green or close to it.

Very interesting work there, Pyro - I'm liking the look of the Elliptical Wing Butcher Bird there.  Quite an idea.
Putty-fu, Scratch-jutsu and Bash-chi, the sacred martial arts of the What-If. Mastering them, is Ancient Chinese Secret.

Just your friendly neighbourhood Mad Scientist and Ship-whiffer.

Overkill? Nah, it's Insurance.  So are the 20" guns.

Spitfire wings on an Fw 190! :o Many a JMN would have your head on a silver platter for such heresy!  ;D

I like it! The actual bash looks surprisingly straightforward. Doesn't look like there were too many fit problems.
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Damnation awaits you....

See you there!!!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Even the name is artistic. Nice one!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Thankee gents! That was kind of the idea, Moritz - it's about as heretical as I could think of. ;D

I've also put the spitfire prop onto the 190's spinner, which is quite an interesting look. No photos of it yet, but trhey should appear soon. :)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

My God!

The brutal lines of the 190 mated to the graceful lines of a Spitfire!?

The Mayans were right! The end is coming!

Seriously, that is one very cool aircraft.

Am I the only one who thinks that it looks Russian?

It does have a bit of a La-5 resemblance:
