I have just come back from a family holiday near Kirkwall.  An elderly Orcadian gentleman passed this story on to me, warranted accurate! He knows, because he was there and saw it happen.

In 1946, a Swordfish aircraft taxied up to the watch office at RNAS Hatston.   Two immaculately dressed naval officers climbed out, saluted the officer of the day, unhitched a tandem from the torpedo gear under their aircraft , adjusted their bike clips and cycled briskly off into Kirkwall.

Given the quite remarkable payload of the Swordfish, would anyone like to use  this report and see how far into "Whiffworld" it can be taken?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
