Hi I was just wondering about the best camouflage for River Gunboats. Presumably they have white for peacetime and grey for wartime but these are more colour schemes than actual camouflage. Would  some kind of brown and green tigerstripe be best for rural camouflage if operatijng in a built up area though that wouldn't be quite so effective.

have a looksee at the inshore splinter scheme carried by Swedish and Finnish naval craft, it works amazingly well even from quite close range, the browns and greys seem to merge the vessel with the shore in a very effective manner

Rather depends on how brown the brown water really is and what the shores look like, I'd have thought.

Here's a few from the net that fit your ideas:

Uzbek river patrol boat
Belorussian hovercraft (scroll about half way down, the whole thead is relevant although most are drab green or grey)
USN Riverine Patrol Boat
USN Riverine Patrol Boat (different scheme)
Iranian hovercraft
Royal Marines hovercraft
Royal Marines landing craft (several schemes)

Should keep you going for a while!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Pleased to see the Uzbek armed forces letting whiffers design their patrol craft.
Take a speedboat hull, armour it and stick surplus BMP-2 and BTR-70 turrets on it.
