Not a skill I have developed yet.  Besides, the gun and the jerry can handles would be kind of delicate for a first try at casting.  I keep hoping someone has some old 24th scale Tamiya bits laying around they don't need. :blink:

Phil: What is that? It's gorgeous!

It is the Rareflow.  My LHS does have one in stock for $50.  It is a slammer kit so no interior (doesn't look like glass either, just black for the windows.  Resin body, diecast (chassis?), etc.  The price is way outside my budget (especially with all the recent Sci-fi things that have been coming out) but he has had them in stock forever and I have known the owner since he first opened, I may be able to talk him down to move some product.  Course, the next car kit I was planning on getting is one of the new Batmobile kits when they get released.  Probably wait for the glue version.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Cool! I got a cheap Ferrari 250LM yesterday, that will likely get similar treatment to that Mustang. ;D

Thanks for the info, philp - that is indeed rather too pricy for me. Nice to know though.

Gentlemen, allow me to ceremonially bump this thread.
Because I think my played sinister soviet sf scooter style something might just be an MCA usable vehicle.
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

By way of some inspiration sirs;
From Fallout:Tactics.

The schwimmwagen (although of the highest degree of awesome) puzzles me a little... Fallout:Tactics is set around 2197 and around Chicago... where does the Brother Hood of Steel get it's schwimmwagens?

May as well ask about the origin of the Humvees or the RSO chassis for the tracked thingie.   ;)

Maybe there's a craze for kit-car replicas of them between now and then?

I've always had a soft spot    for the  Judge Dredd vehicles.  I'm told that they  are standard Land Rover 109 Defender running gear ,  as modified by  the Rover  Special Projects  department. They are said to have been supplied in full road legal trim, at about 1/10 the price that a Hollywood special effects  shop would have wanted.

Another Land Rover comment  (WARNING POTENTIAL THREAD DRIFT)

A letter to the Times complained of the militaristic nomenclature  of  4x4 vehicles----Warrior, Ninja etc.  The writer wondered if they had more peaceful names and were  painted pink, would  people  still buy them ?

Land Rover responded  " We don't mind  renaming  the DEFENDER  the SHEPHERD or something similar...........and we already do pink ones but you wouldn't like to meet them on a dark night!!"
