B-45 canopy?

Did anyone do a vacform canopy for the Mach 2 B-45 Tornado? I've checked Falcon's USAF Bomber set but it doesn't seem to include one and no-one has that set in stock anyway.

The injection one in my kit looks as if it has been bead blasted and there's almost no way it'll work as a proper canopy. I suppose I could put a 'sunshade' over it but that's a last chance option.  :-\

Kit,

Does the canopy have an undercut, if so sorry but I can not help as I do not have a vac-form machine.
However, as OGL and some others might testify, I do not too bad a job of plunge/male-female moulding of canopies.
I would need your original canopy and I could most probably have something for you at Telford, maybe earlier.

Why don't you use it as a master and smash mold a new one? It's easy to do and cheap.

You should fill the canopy with clay or something similar to protect it and provide a convenient way to support it. You can use either butyrate sheets from a hobby store or cut a curved section of smooth plastic from a plastic water bottle.

Have you tried Sanger Kit? You might be able to buy a canopy from one of their kits if you contact them, they do two in 1/72 scale and as they're vacuforms, the canopy would be one too.

Wow, so many ideas, thanks so much.

I didn't even know Sanger did a B-45 Robert, and it's OOS at the moment, but I'll ask. Jim, that's great of you to volunteer and I have some of your canopy moulding work for my Hunter T12 project, so I'll probably take you up on that.

Thanks again.
