I've been using all three sizes for years. When the spongy bit finally "dies", you can pull it off. The tip is pointy (and can be trimmed) I use it to apply glue, mix CA + talc, make small pinpoint paint dots and hold up small parts for painting. I'll also trim one into a small chisel tip and use it to scrape excess paint from canopy frames. Since it's softer than styrene, it won't scratch the plastic.
