Approach to Paro, Bhutan (VQPR) -- Kai Tak was for sissies!

Wanna see a tough approach?  How about down a valley? Let's add that the airport is at 7500' asl? Oh, and the approach requires that you actually pass over the airport at 2000' agl, make a 180° turn at 1500-1000' agl, and a dogleg final? The runway is 7300' long. Oh, right, and do it in an A320.

Apparently the flight control software for the Druk Air A319s and A320s that do the run is specially modified, as normal FCS would not allow this approach.

Oh, and the takeoff is done in the opposite direction, with a 20° climbout.  :o

Not surprising, if its subjected to those sorts of stresses.  Methinks they'd be better off investing in a modified military transport such as a Hercules or an A400.  They might get better use out of them.

I think I've tried that place in FS2004. There were no survivors........
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
