While watching the trailer for this movie I spotted a number of what-if planes and tanks. The main one is a giant Nazi flying wing bomber that looks like an overgrown Ho-229 and it was being chased by what looks like an XP-55 Ascender.
There were also some Nazi armoured cars that looked rather slick and streamlined, only on screen for a few seconds so not too sure.

This should be a fun summer movie to switch off the brain and enjoy!

I thought that was your normal way of operating Nick ?  ;D

Must admit though I am looking forward to this even if it's not the sort of thing I normally go to the cinema to watch.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

yes - interesting footage - looks like a good escapism movie - and mega Do229

Having grown up with the comics back in the 60s, I can say this'll be one I'll be waiting for with baited breath.  I believe my daughter & I are going to see it when it's released here in Aus.

Gondor

The "German" bomber looks a bit like the Fw 1000 x 1000 x 1000 with circular intakes

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Looking at the footage of the two aircraft I'd say the 'pusher' is based on the Douglas B-42 Mixmaster with a bit of ILM tweeking.
The wing, if you look closely, has a flat trailing edge and a curved leading edge sweep. Also, the shape, front on reeks B-2 but the cockpit canopy is WW2 as it is a full 'greenhouse'.
Love to make both though....have to see the movie, buy the DVD......

Saw it a couple of nights ago.  Absolutely cracking show and looking forward to 'The Avengers' movie to follow.  Interesting aircraft and vehicles throughout.

Yes good movie.  Very much like the 40's/50's comics.  Good popcorn fun without the need for sex and bad language- refreshing.  As for the wing it is a giant wing with both pusher props like a B-36 and 4 large turbojets.  Not really based on anything- it is off the scale huge with a glass nose like a giant XB-35.  Other aviation elements include a triebflugel and some airdropped fighters with a giant pusher prop.  Other neat things include a mini-sub and a great 6x6 for the villain- a german staff car on steroids.  All are well done.  Worth seeing on the big screen.

I am quite sure the landing gear was from a B-36.  Big wheels and TALLLLLLL.

Kids loved the movie.
