So anything War on Terror as well? I think it would have more participants with an overall War on Terror GB you know Sept 11th 2001 - Present, but it may have some negatives with the touchy subject of homeland terrorism for the US members (and for UK, India and other terror targets)

I think not,  lets keep the respect for those who lost their lives.

I think calling it a "9/11 War on Terror" group build would indeed be tasteless. However a "rescue/emergency services" GB with a by-line dedicating it respectfully to the fire/police fallen would probably be okay. After all, it would be a kind of fitting tribute if we all put our minds to imaginative way of saving lives rather than taking them for once.....

Couple of basic rules:

1. Subject must be intended to save or protect lives in a civil way: no war machines for this one.

2. No specifically 9/11 elements, markings or dioramas: tasteless.

I don't want to be the troublemaker, but sometimes, in very exceptionnal situation (i.e. typhoons, hurricanes, earthquakes...) armed forces are part of the rescue teams. But maybe you want to say a military machine turned into rescue duties under civilian livery ?

True but the machines tend to be engineering, logistics & medical support, not tanks & artillery.

However, I'd support "ex-military" or civilian variants of military hardware in Emergency Service livery (eg: C-130's, CH-53's, LCT's, etc.)...

... or "what if" there was a way to "bandage" or "splint" high-rise towers to maintain their structural integrity, what could you use & how could it be deployed; better devices for removing injured people from danger; alternate means of rescuing large numbers (thousands) of people from severely damaged structures quickly, efficiently & reliably; etc.

Things of that ilk.

Yes, you're both right. To clarify, "no war machines" means the end result mustn't be a war machine, i.e. it's primary purpose must not be to kill people or destroy stuff. There's no reason at all why it can't be based on a war machine (tank-based extreme fire-engine, for example), indeed, that has additional "swords-into-ploughshares" appeal. It should be in the spirit of fire crews, ambulance crews and other rescue workers.

Yes, saying 9/11 would be disrespectful, but a rescue kind of GB, with firetrucks, police cars etc would be cool!

One of the USCG WMECs was stationed just off southern Manhattan for several weeks after the attack I saw her there every day, and I've thought about building that vessel to honor her.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
