One more Yellow Wings

This model was built up a few years before Anigrand released their kit of the speculative Martin XB-16. I made this from some of the concept drawings and descriptions out there. Used wings and the engines and tails from a B314 Clipper kit, discarding the hull and using a bit of styrene sheet to extend the wings center section. I gave it less fuselage than the later resin kit, burying the cockpit in the center leading edge greenhouse.

Well, really it isn't a flying wing, but is the most nice creation of a yellow wing heavy bomber.

 I usually try when thinking up a design is picture how it would look in a film or in animation. Picture classic films of the various eras and story lines and how a airplane would fit in, sometimes even for just a few scenes. A good example would be the flying wing scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" or a modern Anime like "The Sky Crawlers" or a really classic aero movie like "Strategic Air Command" or "The Dam Busters". Each time era, country of manufacture and locations would have their own styles, colors and general appearance.
  This topic's model really looks taken from either a recruiting poster, a popular mechanics magazine or "Air Trails" ...or possibly a sci-fi film like "Things to come".
  So its not just looking into a box of parts and playing "Mr. Potato Head" with them - that comes later   There is a long contemplated idea with plenty of procrastination first.
