A feature on the Boeing B-54A mock-up inspection of 1948 is now up at RetroMechanix.com:

The B-54A was the planned production version of the YB-50C and the final development of the B-29 Superfortress. It was powered by improved R-4360 Variable Discharge Turbine (VDT) radial engines and featured a larger wing span and longer fuselage, among many other changes. The article features 48 high resolution drawings and photos of this forgotten final development of the B-29/B-50 bomber series, ideal reference for those contemplating purchase of the Anigrand kit or modification of a B-29/B-50 kit. Enjoy!

Considering the Tu-95 is the end of the line that began with Tu-4......

Makes me wonder how a swept wing planform would be on it......
To the individual soldiers, *everything* is a frontal assault!

A B-54(C/D?) with Buffy's wings and turboprops perhaps?

Looks like "Variable Discharge Turbine" doesn't make it a turboprop, so......

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

You're welcome; hope we see some nice models of it on here in the future!

That'd work although I was for aesthetics' sake thinking of keeping the propellers  ;D

Now that I look at it again, I noticed two pod-like items on the right side of the fuselage- the lower (and bigger) one is likely the radar; what's the upper (and much-smaller) one?

Generic looking IFR probe?  Being a mock up, it wouldn't have to be all the detailed.

According to the captions on the pictures its the "hemispheric sight" which I think is/was some kind of gun sight

edit: if you go here http://www.glennsmuseum.com/bombsights/bombsights.html and scroll down a bit it shows something much the same fitted to a B36,
as the nose gun sight.

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

I just discovered that the line drawings also refers to its fairing as "gunsight fairing".

Once again I troubled you guys with my neglect.  :banghead:
