The Gripen is the same size as a Hunter, almost exactly the same size too.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

They should be able to hang them up in the airfield bunkers to make space then!

You do realise that the Gripen was chosen as an F-5 replacement whereas the F-35 is considerably more capable than that?  You're comparing chalk and cheese but I must admit, a Gripen in FAA colours would look good...

I built one a few years back. all over EDSG - Looks very nice.

Don't want to be pro-Rafale (coz I think Gripen can be a very capable plane for the French Air Force) but it seems that they want to buy the Gripen NG, certainly cheaper than Rafale or Typhoon, but exists only on drawing board at the moment...

But now, another whiff possilibity for my stash's Rafales

Anything looks good in EDSG. Fact. ;D And IIRC the Gripen is pretty much carrier-capable already. Would need a beefed-up arrestor hook and not much else.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

I'm still holding my breathe for the day when the Rafale starts flying with ROCAF roundels.  ;D
To the individual soldiers, *everything* is a frontal assault!

I don't think the Rafale will be exported... But I cross the fingers !! It would be nice with Brazil, India, Qatar, UAE... ROCAF, Malaysia... Lots of possibilites. And the most interesting, Rafale M for the Royal Navy :)

Radish

Dream on. Once we've sold the carriers...totally daft idea to even think of big carriers....we won't need carrier-born aircraft.

I always thought England/Scotland/Wales was a very-slow-moving (continental drift) aircraft-carrier

so all Brit aircraft should have a hook & be painted in EDSG  ;D

you may as well all give up -- the truth is much stranger than fiction.

I'm not sick ... just a little unwell.

Nah - the deck's just about long enough for free take-offs, although the Trident did push the limit on this...

As for hooks, we've decided to go back to the earliest simple practice: a new job creation scheme will see hundreds of formerly unemployed teenagers stationed at each side of runways to grab the wingtips of 747s and slow them down after landing...

You're not kidding! They weren't nicknamed 'Grippers' for nothing.

I used to 'commute' to Berlin Templehof in BA Tridents and the take-offs, even with reduced pax loads mind you, were 'heart-in-mouth' times!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I flew into Gothenburg in one of those and getting it stopped was a slow process as well!
