Just thought I'd share a few shots with you! They're not the best quality & the weather pretty bad & light even worse but, what the hell!! That's Leuchars in September for you!!

nice piccies, bumped into a few fellow modellers there on Saturday, Sandy 'Tojo633' et al, hoping you missed the midday downpour, i was lucky enough to be hiding in the KC.135 at the time

a pretty piss poor show staticwise, the highlight for me being the Norweigan Falcon, 20 aircraft of mixed military/civil provenance does not make a show methinks, heres hoping they try a bit harder next year?
Flying display was pretty good even with the usual no show of the BoBMF. (wasnt it suppost to be 'Battle of Britain' week as well as Leuchars Anniversary show !!?)

Unfotunately Joe,I didn't miss the downpour!! I agree with your comment on the static "display". Poor does nor begin to describe it although, I do not blame the organisers. They can only work with what they get. However, despite the thin show & bad weather, I have to confess I my buddies & I enjoyed our annual pilgrimage!. A few beers in the Commercial Bar afterwards helped!!

this seems to have been the story at most of the airshows this year poor attendance by any military and especially the UK military, sunderland airshow did not have any fast jets this year and the only military aircraft were the tutors and the black cats, not even a royal navy guardship like they normally have

How does one pronounce "Leuchars"? I've always assumed "lucchers" but I was watching the 2011 Edinburgh Military Tattoo and announcer said "Luukkers".

It sounds SO much better with a Scots accent though.

The rolling 'rrrrr' on the end can only really be carried off by a native Scot. Guess what we'll be asking you to pronounce at SMW 2012 Jim.
