Does anybody know what is/was the Russian/Soviet equivalent of the various Rolls Royce Turboprop engines?  In both time scale and power rating, if possible.

The Dart, Tyne, etc?

The Vanguard and the Il-18 were contemporary airliners, and the Vanguard was the launch aircraft for the Tyne. The Il-18 used the Ivchenko AI-20M engine with around 4200 hp, slightly less than the Tyne. The same Ivchenko engine was also used by the Antonov An-12, the Soviet 'Herk'.

For the smaller types like the Dart it's more difficult as the Soviets didn't use smaller turboprops until they started on the Antonov An-24 series twins in the early '60s. They too used Ivchenko engines, this time the AI-24A with around 2500 hp each.

Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Alternatively, say the Dart (or the Python, etc) was given to the Russians along with the Nene? Then a suitably Soviet-ised reverse-engineered version could appear shortly afterwards.
