you may as well all give up -- the truth is much stranger than fiction.

I'm not sick ... just a little unwell.

I have looked at that one with thoughts of doubling the size and then cutting from sheet plastic for 72nd.

Lots of ideas on Google Images.

For materials and ideas, if building in 1/72- you can start digging in the scenery for HO scale trains. I used lots of building components in that scale and also N-scale for 1/144 projects.

Things like plastic stock siding sheets, brickface panels, doors, windows, ladders, railings and the like.

1/48 scale and you move up to a railroad scale counterpart with little to no scenery and layout goodies compared to HO.

Look in the 3D libraries of Google Sketchup and there should be some modest hangar plans in there too.

Think about prototyping buildings in LEGO to test ideas.

Consider designing your own from pictures.

Zillions of years ago someone, probably Contrail or the like, made a vacform hangar in 1/72. Needless to say it was a HUGE piece of plastic and I only ever saw one built up, that was when the UK Nats was at Stoneliegh back in the 70s-80s period I guess.

RussC, I'm not really Planning to have a National Flag, this is More 'Gerry Anderson' style, i plan for this to be an ASR(Air Sea Rescue) Alert Station. plan to make it look like something that's been in use for Years, like a Cold War era Hangar. does that help you? Dan

Well, start with pictures. Google images and enter aircraft hangars. A Cold War era hangar would be a Butler-type building, using electric lighting versus lots of windows and/or skylights. Could use either a roll-up door or a sliding panel type. Would likely be Masonry and Steel framing and would have bright internal colors.

Actually, a real Cold War era hangar would be a Hardened shelter or HAS building, but not for ASR craft!

A modern factory type railroad layout building modified with the proper doors would be one way to go.

I built several hangars, some as entire display shelves and free-standing ones for dioramas. My favorite mediums were foamboard, also known as Gatorboard, very strong, rigid and light- can be cut with scribing of box cutter blade and fastened with white glue and acrylic painted.

Cor Russ, OUTSTANDING work there!

Having seen the pics I can recall them in the background of your various 'Wing Whiffs' but the hangars tended to be overshadowed by the excellent work in the foreground. Are your hangars all 1/144 scale?

Yes, all were/are 1/144, but being scratchbuilt- could have been made any scale.
