Different scales.  The P-M kits are 43rd, Tamiya's 24th.  AFAIK, no one else has done an Aston Martin DB7 kit in 24th, much as I'd like one.  Or a Jaguar XK8, come to that.

PR19_Kit

I have both the Tamiya and the P-M XJR-9s, but haven't started either of them as yet. I just open the boxes and oggle at all the bits every few months.  :o

The only 1/43 car kit I've ever finished is a D-Type Jag actually. It was SO fiddly, specially fitting the headlamp covers, that it put me off the scale somewhat. It looks great though.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
