How rare are?

How rare are the following kits?

Revell 1/72 Fiat G91
Matchbox 1/72 Fiat G91Y

I've been hunting for both for a while and the Revell one appears to be as rare as the proverbial Rocking-Horse pooh.  The Matchbox one slightly less so but seems to go for comparatively expensive prices on EvilBay.

I've got one of the Revell kits - I've been holding it for a real-world US Army bird.
I could be persuaded to release it from the hoard.....

On it's own, the Revell G.91 might be rare, but Italeri recently reissued it in their Freece Tricolori anniversary set.

Perhaps they'll issue it on it's own as well given that they subsequently did so with the Supermodel MB-339 which was also in the Freece anniversary set.

I was under the impression the Italeri Freece Tricolori set had Italeri's own moulding of a G.91 based on the early, pre-production type used by the aerobatic's team.

No it's the Revell kit in the Frecce Tricolori set: it comes with the pointy PAN nose as well as the camera one, the gun bays are interchangeable so you can have 2 x 30mm or 4 x 12.7mm and it has the proper small smoke tanks for the pylons.

The Revell kit got royally slagged for innacuracy when it came out (the wing sweep angle is wrong, amongst other things) so I don't think it sold too well, hence why it's difficult to find now. One thing to watch out for is that the Tiger Meet edition is moulded in yellow plastic, which may make it a pig to paint in any other colour.

I've picked up a few Matchbox/Revellobox G.91Ys on ebay (sorry, none spare). They don't seem to go for silly money, but they just don't come up that often.

Ah, hence your combining of the Revell and Airfix (ancient, oh, so bloody ancient) kits?

No I'm not actually doing it (too far along with the pure Airfix one now), but I wish I had done.....
