similar to the Specifications GB

You'd need to design something that could

ie for the MAC ship aircraft

a ) overtake a Condor ie: 235 mph plus
b) Short take off and landing
c) very rugged especially the landing gear
d) foldable wings
c) able to carry rocket projectiles/ depthcharges
e) decent range
f) long endurance

aircraft for Cam ship would be similar plus you could make it amphibious or a seaplane plus easy to maintain given lack of hangar facilities and being stuck outside in all weathers.

I wonder if the Brewster Buffalo could meet these specs if the landing gear were removed and fuel added?
They'd be disposable and armed enough to take on a Condor.
What other aircraft were new enough to be effective but old enough to be one-shots?
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Did this one a while ago, the idea was to replace the Hurricanes in the CAM ship role with a floatplane that could be recovered.  The P-40 might be useful in an earlier guise too as a CAM ship bird, you could get some extra performance out of it by using emergency power in the same way the Russians did.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Oh yes! I DO like the P-40 floatplane!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
