So, I'm trying to design a new wall-to-wall-glass instrument panel for a CH-53E WHIF, and I'm having a problem... coming up with data on MFD's to go into the dash. I like that 8x20" FOG in JSF or Rockwell Collins's 9x12" MFD2912 (or maybe a Siamesed-2912 as F-35 MFDS is two conjoined 2810's?) as a "core", but still need some ideas for building around it to fill out the panel.

Anyone have any sources on square-on flat photos or diagrams, and dimensions? I've got a 2912 from RC direct that I managed to resize and crop to about full-scale, but for other big panels, say the LFDS on 767-400, I'm lost--and I'm a big fan of big panels.

Goal is to combine the best features of A380, 787, F-22 and F-35 panels using only currently- or could-easily-be-built components, and still make them all look like steam locomotives by comparison. Anybody out there have any data or ideas that they might be willing to pitch in to help?

Thanks--at this point, I think I've settled on pilot displays of a triple-8x10-portrait with FOG (JSF is a double-8x10-landscape) each side, with a double-9x12-portrait in the panel center.

I know the top-line's not quite right in this render, and the bottom-line of all those displays are now down around the bottom of the fuel-management (lower center) panel, but part of my thinking is that fuel management would be integrated into the digital-dash. Panels are two triple 8x10 touchscreens built around Rockwell Collins 2810 displays much like the original F-35 MFDS before RC lost the contract, and a double 9x12 similarly built around RC 2912's--not sure the center needs FOG, I was thinking "normal" would be have the pilots' panels be one each Primary Flight Display, Navigation & Optics, and Weapons & Tactical, with the center display switching modes between Engine & Fuel Management or Mission Control as required. The bare-minimum mechanical instruments would be mounted above the MFD's on each side, but part of the "protective measures" I had conceived for the onboard computer was for the aircraft to be all but unflyable without it, even with a full 3-man "standard Stallion" crew--the Emergency Checklist would be pop-up to 20K and Hit The Silk.
