In 2015 the decision was taken by the Australian Government to form the Royal Australian Marine Corps to serve aboard the new CANBERRA class LHDs.   In order to facilitate their amphibious warfare mission, V-22 Ospreys were ordered from their manufacturer Bell Boeing in the United States.  Arriving in Australian in 2017, they quickly proved their worth during the West New Guinea intervention of 2020.

I've got one of those Hobbycraft V-22s and you have my HIGHEST admiration for making such a neat model out that kit.

AFAIK the only V-22 kit that's designed so you can build it in the 'folded' configuration, a pity the far better Italeri version isn't designed like that.

It is a pretty plain kit but it actually builds very easily and comes out quite well.  The only major problem I had was the rear ramp.  It didn't fit very well and required a fair amount of putty to make it even with the door frames.  The other problem I had was figuring out where the blades fold and I still think I got it wrong.   My next build is the Italeri Osprey and having just glanced at it, I do think it would be possible to build it folded with a little bit of work.  Something I know you're not afraid of, Kit.  ;D

Er,             yeah.........  ;D

I have both Hobbycraft and Italeri V-22s and I must admit I did think of mixing and matching them to build one folded, but eventually gave in and did the Italeri one stock, albeit with a few extra bits and pieces. Quite what happened to the Hobbycraft one I can't figure out, I looked for it last night and it's vanished.  :banghead:

I don't think you're far off with the blade folds, the Italeri kit shows the fold points quite clearly and yours look on the money to me.

Nice one mate. I think that's the first one I've seen with it's wings folded
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
