Built the F-8IIM and FBC-1 as reviews in SAMI a Lo-o-o-o-o-ng time ago and both are very toylike. Plastic is some type of ABS, tube glue doesn't do anything to it, detail is recessed, very deep and covered in rivet holes. The FBC-1 was short by about an inch IIRC and the miissing inch is from just behind the cockpit area. The missing inch makes the intakes far too short and you can't fit the long Chinese serial numbers in the right place. Main landing gear bays and doors totally wrong shapes
Cockpits in both are carricatures, seats are like arm chairs and the joysticks are a long triangle of plastic with a tennis ball on top!the F8IIM kit has been beaten by the new mould Trumpeter kits but the FBC-1 is still the only game in town in 1/48th.
Both kits have a hell of a lot of weapons including drop tanks, bombs, rocket pods, several types of AAM's and the FBC-1 has a couple of C-801 anti ship-missiles. Both come out as big, quite impressive models.
Decals were complete crap, they didn't like water very much preferring to disintegrate rather than go on the models! Managed to get enough national insignia to stay on the kits but everything else was hand painted.

1/72nd Quad Tilt Rotor, 1/144th V/STOL E2 Hawkeye (stalled)

Radish

LIQUID CEMENT WORKS FINE.

Built one of them...F8-IIC as a MiG-21TEL.....the twin-engined MiG-21 you've never heard of. Liquid cement works fine.
The kit is crude but fun and can be a canvas for all sorts of stuff.
I've primed mine but not finished it yet... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Very recommended for whiffery

You're quite right about the liquid cement Radish, I used plastic weld on my two and they are great for whiffing. Unfortunately both of them plunged to their deaths from a shelf so they're in the scrap box at the moment!
AA are still the only place to get the cranked arrow wing J-7E/F-7M Airguard in 1/48th though I reckon Trumpeter will be doing some as they've got a MiG21 F13 out in September. Not sure if it's all new or just scaled down from their 1/32nd kits.
