This is a RW subject, but owes a debt to one of WIM's own, Kit Spackman. The Wellesley kit I had did not have a rear canopy (or instructions or decals for that matter). But I noted when Kit posted his own modified Wellesley that it had only one cockpit. I sent him a PM asking if he still had the surplus canopy, and he was shortly sending it across the ocean. So cheers Kit!  :drink:

I have ordered decals for the grey fuselage codes and white underwing serials, so technically it won't be finished til then. But don't tell anyone. More details on the 72 Land blog referenced below.

YESSsssssssssssss!

I LOVE it when a plan comes together!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I just read your blog page Kevin (GREAT work there BTW) and was shocked to see your Wellesley suffered a landing gear failure due too high a landing speed.

So did mine!

Either that's a co-incidence or that guy Barnes Wallis needed to re-calculate his landinge gear stress figures.......  ;)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Of course, it may be as simple as he expected his planes to be flown by careful pilots, not whizzed around by ham-fisted giants! ;)

And Clear Air Turbulance hadn't been invented in Barnes' time either........... ;)

Of course not!

Clear Air Turbulence is a fabrication of the 70's (?) to explain-away a series of otherwise unexplained aerial incidents & accidents which occurred because no-one was willing to admit the truth...

... that they were, if fact, caused by ham-fisted giants whizzing the aircraft around!

Ditto.  Can't have too many of them - I do wish Revell would re-release the old Matchbox one.  Maybe Airfix could be persuaded to do a new 1/72 tool - it'd go nicely with 2013's Seafire FR.47 in the same scale.
