CANSO

As I already mentioned it during the sketching process the "Mustfire" (Mustang engine an canopy+Sptifire body) looks much better to me than the "Spitfang" (Spitfire engine an canopy+Mustang body). In 3D this shows even better. Just an idea - clipped wings maybe? IMHO, of course.
The "Mustang" model you are using is rather crude (sorry to say that :-\), but its canopy makes the "beast" somehow more sophisticated!

Have to agree
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Funnily, I began this project as a Spitfire with 'squared surfaces' (note that the Mustang's radiator is deleted); but then I saw that remainder made a lot of sense. In the end we will see which is more elegant.

Are those Airfix kits? if not, than what are they (I might try this project too)
In my opinion, British, Canadian, or USAF markings make things look so much better...

The Wooksta!

Testors Spitfire F22 and I'm guessing the Matchbox Mustang. Both kits are past their best and in the case of the former, that was the 1960s. It's a poor approximation of a Spitfire, being one of the prototype 22s and it's best thought of as a conversion fuselage.  I've one somewhere with the surgery done to allow the fitment of a Heller 16 wing to do an F.XVIIIe.
