Is it worth the 3 1/2 inch difference per track, 14 inches total track width in 1/72 scale? Meeeeh. I'm kinda inclined to say probably not and/or just cite the "rule of cool" in using the standard tracks. I hope I haven't come across as a rivet-counting killjoy here because that's not in any way my intention.

No you havn't Jacques. There is a huge difference between a "rivet counting killjoy" and trying to establish some degree of accuracy. Accuracy is important even if it's just so that you know your'e ignoring it !

Hunnicutt gives the T28 track as 19.5 inches wide, I completely understand your point Jacques, I'll have to have a think about it, maybe 1/76 tracks on the 1/72 model would be about right?

IMHO you added a suitable disclaimer. My modeling is even further out there, as that I *can be* a rivet counting star trek modeler. But I try and put suitable disclaimers on my postings. But the true killjoy rivet counter is some moron who takes one look at some model that's been rebuilt from the ground up (e.g. the Tamiya T-62) but there's some minor details that are wrong and the boor just goes on and one about how there should be 8 lug nuts on the drive wheels...
