A Quartet of He-100's

Here is a "legacy" lineup--

1.The short-winged speed-record breaker V8 (Side registration originally on V3, then transfered to V8 after V3's crash)--a Real-World build.

2. The "Propaganda Fighter" He-100D in spurious markings--a Real World build, but fringing on what-if of itself.

3. Next, the Japanese  "improved" version built by Argentines--improved range, armament, and manuverability. Whif.

4. Back in Germany, oblivious to the Japanese re-design, different "improvements" are tried out--a new, laminar-flow wing is coupled with slight increased length, four-bladed prop for a souped-up version of the DB-605, and a new blown canopy (later to be on the He-162!). Whif.

#1,3, and 4 are based on the Lindberg He-100. #2 is an almost-out-of-the-box MPM He-100.

Very nice, also the group presentation. And there could be MANY more, e .g. a Finnish version, something from Hungary, Italy, Romania, captured bird. and even a post-war Luftwaffe version (e .g. NMF with dayglo markings)... There's a lot of potential here

I also consider getting the MPM kit and make a Japanese whif from it - but there are so many other ideas and projects on the bench...

That would "complete" a five-some. IPMS *USED* to have a contest category for "five related" builds. That would be my "goal".

He-100's were bought by both the Soviet Union and Japan, so some whif potential there. Also, since the He-100 had "racing heritage", a Reno Unlimited pylon-racer version might be appropriate!

Aha! It was *YOU* who did that pair of "sumo He-100's"! Nice! I had squirreled away the photos in my "other people's models" digital collection but didn't know whose they were.
