I was thinking of the pilot n co-pilot closer together more upfront with a bulkhead behind them with the crew stations.....got the stuff i need for it.........just need the time now.....

Drill has been commited to plastic....!! Both doors drilled out as I will be putting sliding ones on.....a quick Q though please......the sonobuoy launchers that are in batteries on the side/underside....are they reloadable from inside....? My thoughts are they are loaded then dropped in a pattern n re loaded from inside for other prosecutions......would this be a fair assumption....?

Hi Hank, I've just realised, you PM'd me about a Hind A & I neglected to get back to you, sorry!  Glad you're cracking on with this, I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I'd had some thought's about fixed landing gear in the Hind thread about using the main gear arrangement from the Hip.  I think Geoff's suggestion of sponson gear is a good one.  I'd keep the single front strut for commonality.  One thing to watch for with changing the undercarriage is it might interfere with the stub wings.  If it does, you could either delete the inner pylon on the stub wing, or put a mounting on the lower fueslage.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I handled the fuselage last night I considered two options....1) I was sent a pair of sea king sponsons....I thought of mounting them at the rear and doing away with the inner pylon, there is enough room to have a torpedo hung on either side infront of the sponson......leaving the outer pylon and wing tip pylon for other stores.......2) a sort of scaffold pole arrangement like the naval Kamov helo's.....still keep the inner pylon AND hung stuff of the fuselage.....H

^ Both good ideas!  I'd go with option #1 and keep the wings.

Really dig the idea of the sponsons and the torpedoes hung in front of them ion the fuselage sides. Maybe a torpedo on one side and an AShM on the other?

Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

I was thinking of a torpedo on either side infront of the sponson.....a sea skua on the outboard pylon....not sure what would go on the wingtip station instaed of the ATGM.....I was thinking of the towed MAD thingy....I was sent a AN/ASQ-81 (I think....) from a Airfix SH-2 kit.....that on on tip, opposite side from the rotor....not sure about the other side......H

Maybe a Sea Skua on one pylon, MAD bird on the other and floatation bags on the wingtip stations?

Was thinking of having a little bulge either side sorta cheek mounted, flotation bags like I think the Lynx HAS8 has....other devices would be incorporate in the sponsons....

Right.....the unthinkable has happened....over the next few weeks it would appear that there is time for some modelling....so,I want to progress with this.....so I'm asking....undercarriage....!!! Through the generosity of members I have some sea king floats....I was thinking of rear mounting in the style of a Mi14....with two u/c units at the front....but I have to admit to leaning towards fixed u/c like the naval Ka25/27/29 series....I have parts for both versions....I'm sorted on weapons n sensor fit....just the u/c issue.....anyone with any ideas or suggestions....many thanks.....H

Mi-4 has suitable strut undercarriage, including two sets of forward undercarriage.  If you call out on the swapshop, someone has probably replaced their old Kopro with the Hobbyboss kit and might be willing to part with it?  Both can be found pretty easily if not.

Sikorsky S-55/H-19/Westland Whirlwind, similar arrangement to the Mi-4. Itaerli/Revell kit is, oop but I think they can be found.

Mi-8, Hobby Boss and Kopro, again, someone might have a spare Koro kit.  Pavla do a set which has the struts, albiet faired over:

Sikorsky S-58/H-34/Westland Wessex.  Hobby Boss do the H-34, Italeri do both the H-34 and Wessex

I think the Mi-4 and S-55 would be most suitable, followed by the S-58 and Mi-8?

Mossie.....loads to think about there.....many many thanks  I got a loada spare wheels an plastic rod.....I feel like scratch building....the rear u/c doors are closed n smoothed over....the Kamov style of four wheels is my favourite....with regard o sensor fit,I take it the trailable sensor (MAD) would be unreeled on the opposite side to the tail rotor.....??
