Just a head up to say this book has now been republished in a cheaper paperback version for those who are interested.

The original harback version on this book provided much of the inspiration and information for many of my 1/700 post war RN builds, and the book attracted alot of interest when displayed with the models

'Tis a good one. I'd recommend the others in the series as well (Grand Fleet and Nelson to Vanguard are the two I have).
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

I am not a "Navy Man" but that title sounds interesting if nothing more than to inform me about how the modern Royal Navy came to be what it is.

Yeap especially as it covers the alternative or cancelled designs for the What-if Aspect .

Have received my copy, basically a reprint of the original in a slightly smaller paperback format with a new Geoff Hurst painting for the cover. Unfortunately both Authors have sadly passed away in the 8 years since the bok was first published so there is no new information that may have come to light or covering the developments in the last few years with the Type 45, Astute, Queen Elizabeth and Type 26 classes.
