Wiesel AFV What-If Ideas

I've been doing a lot of research on the Wiesel weapon's carrier (both the Wiesel and the Wiesel 2). There are lots of pictures out there but not many videos.

There are a ton of variants already but I just can't help but think this has even more versatility...

One thing that caught me by surprise is that the 20mm version only has about 55* of traverse (by looking at it, I would have thought it was 360)


Wiesel What-Ifs

For such a small vehicle (especially with it's short trackbase) violent pitching might occur when traversing terrain offroad. Stabilized RWS would definitely be beneficial.

-.50 RWS (2 axis stabilized, Smoke launchers, Daysights, Thermal sights, Laser Rangefinder)
-40mm RWS (as above)
-AT Scout (3 meter telescoping mast with 4x Javelin or Spike missiles, Thermals, GSR and Day/Night sights)
-Assault (Carl Gustav or 106mm RR instead of TOW launcher)

Wiesel 2 What Ifs

This is my favorite what if version... would pack a big punch for a tiny vehicle.  Kind of like the Mk20 variant on steroids, plus it's stabilized, can be fully traversed.

-Fire Support Variant:  30mm M230LF RWS (2 axis stabilized with a bunch of other features. Same gun as Apache helicopter) http://defense-update.com/images/crows-30.jpg and http://tinyurl.com/9dy26h9
This would be mounted on a panoramic vision block system.

Couple other possibilities...
-Anti tank (like ITW) (Think Ocelot version but with 6x Javelin or Spike missiles)

-Anti-Tank variant 2 (Think CVR(T) Striker)
6-8x Spike ER with LOAL (Dismounts find targets,

-Airborne Recce Variant (Strengthened Torsion bar suspension and engine / transmission mounts to allow for paradrop).  Hybrid electric drive allows for significantly increased range (300 mi) before refueling (minimizing logistics footprint since you'll have to use the air bridge for resupply) as well as permitting 4-5 mile silent approach.  Band tracks.   3 meter mast with GSR, Thermals, Continuous magnification day/night sights.  VIRSS Smoke / Frag launchers and self recovery winches fore/aft. M-134 minigun for suppressive fire should you need to break contact.  Compact UAV.

Addon Armor Options:
Uprated suspension, Anti-RPG cage armor, Spall Liners, Shock Absorbing Seats, Perforated Steel addon armor tuned to 14.5mm backed with 2" armored glass blocks over the existing steel armor (should provide protection vs. .50 cal ball frontal arc, and 14.5mm ball frontal arc at @500m)
