Early British turboprops are quite easy to replicate, they're basically a cylinder.  Find a plastic tube of the right diameter, round off the end, fair it into your airframe with mucho milliput and PSR.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Another idea  l have is to change the engines on the Airfix Short Sunderland , four Griffons or the PT6A from the Heritage Aviation Model range.  I have used these on two Lockheed C-69 Constellation builds . This would look great on a Sandringham conversion or a armed Sandringham. As this topic keeps cropping up .

Yes, it works very well, a Dart engined Sunderland ----

Thanks,

The RCAF were going to convert their Sunderlands into freighters for their part in Tiger Force to provide support, they were also going to change over to the Sunderland Mk.V which would have been powered by R-1830's or R-2000.  This is supposed to be a Mk.V re-converted to turbo-prop, it will also be an amphibean.

I've just got hold of a set of Harald Hensel R-2000 engine nacelles originally made to replace the Mach II DC-4 kit's engines, with a bit of work I'll convert another Sunderland to have those engines

I wonder if they would work on a Constellation  as I have the Airfix Super G in my stash?
Otherwise I was going to use the wings from the BAe Nimrod, sort of Spey powered Connie . Using the weapon bay  to  store the luggage .

I would go with the T-56's for the Connie, or maybe Tynes.  You could use what is on the Revell Atlantique for those, or from a Transall

Thanks,
I have two Br.1150 Atlantics; one Revell the other from Mach 2. I will use these . Saving the C -160 for  another day .
There was a proposal for the ATL 3 to have the same engines as the C-130J. Just waiting for my oZMods order to arrive with the correction set.

There was a real world Turbo Connie, it used P&W T34 engines (same as on your B-17 testbed).  The Tyne would be a good equivalent.

I think there were four of them, two for the USAF and two for the USN. They looked terrific, much sleeker than the radial engined version. They should have used Starliner wings too, it'd have been even MORE sleeker!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

You can find the same engines on a C-133 apparently, and I have a set of JRutman nacelles for my vacuform kit.  Unfortunately, J Rutman has ceased producing any of the 1/72 scale mods he did.
