Star Trek Pre-TOS Model Construction Query

Hey Guys, I'm Tempted to Build a Model of a Ship from Stat Trek's 'Pre-TOS' Era, the Ship is Called the Pioneer Class, Here is the Address: www.starfleet-museum.org/pioneer.jpg ! Has Anyone Tried to Build the Ship or Knows if a Model might be Available? The Starfleet musseum is speculative and non canon for the msot part, so there are no official models. That said, I seem to remember a chap turning one on a lathe from metal or something a while back.

Let's see....
A 1 or 2 liter plastic soda bottle, (Depending on scale your building), with the neck cut off. A cap of some sort. A few round tip markers for the drive nacels.
